Being diagnosed with breast cancer is a life changing diagnosis. It is a very emotional and stressful time. There will be surgery, chemotherapy and possibly a few rounds of chemotherapy. It can be a long and painful journey physically and emotionally.
After surgery, the site of the incision(s) may be sore and sensitive. Your loved one may also have lymph nodes removed in the armpit. The drain may be uncomfortable when it moves. Sleeping is sometimes painful because the skin pulls.
Your loved one needs something practical and helpful. A comfort cushion will protect the site of surgery, prevent the arm from rubbing on sensitive areas, shield the chest from pets and children when they come bouncing towards them. At night, the body repairs, so it is very important to sleep well.
A comfort cushion will protect the sensitive skin around the incisions, keep the drain in place and hold everything together preventing the skin from pulling down at night. This is how I found my comfort cushion most useful.
Emotionally, a heart-shaped cushion is invaluable. A customer said that hers was like “a comfort blanket”. During the stressful weeks or months ahead, a comfort cushion acts as a hug pillow, a comforter. It will be a companion that will see your loved one through very difficult times.
The heart-shape will convey your feelings of support, empathy, care and love. Gifting a comfort cushion will reassure you that you have given your loved one a thoughtful and caring gift that will help.
I wish the recipient of your gift an excellent recovery
